Is My Attendance Required at the Creditor Hearing? YES
13 September 2013

All debtors listed in a petition for a chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy must appear the creditor hearing. Failure to appear will cause the case to be dismissed unless a continuance is granted. It is crucial the client arrives early and is prepared.

As an advocate for my client, I attend all creditors meetings with the client to ensure a successful outcome. Prior to the creditor meeting, I contact the client to discuss the case and prepare the client for the hearing. I make it my goal the client feels comfortable to participate in the hearing since many clients dread going to court.

Filing for bankruptcy is an important step and a powerful tool to restore ones financial track in a positive direction. Due to the complexities of filing for bankruptcy it is always highly advised to select a qualified attorney who is experienced in bankruptcy law to represent the debtor.

Feel free to contact my office to make an appointment to discuss your bankruptcy concerns. I make it my goal to provide each client the dedicated time and experience for his/her bankruptcy concerns.
